God it's sloppy and disgusting... I like it ;)

Nice tune you've got going on here. Although I just wanted to quickly comment on the leading synth at the beginning. You really need to cut off some of those higher frequencies in it as it's really piercing.

Apart from that it's a decent dubstep tune. I can tell your from London ;)

johnnyk158 responds:

Ahh nice!
Yeah I will take some of those frequencies down a bit.
I should have a new version on in a couple of months probably.

Nice...

As soon I as I checked out your profile after you reviewed one of my songs I knew I would like your techno. The reason being that your from Croatia, always decent techno ;)

Seriously though, you've got something really good in the making here. That acid type synth is fantastic. You've really made a decent thick sound and it gets you moving.

However, I felt there was a severe lacking in bass. I think you need to add some heavy bass notes in there to really get people up and moving. The drum pattern can also a get a little repetitive and in my opinion you have a few too many bass kicks.

But hey it's a demo, loads of room for improvement but a brilliant demo nonetheless. I can imagine this tune being MASSIVE on completion.

Good work and well done.

bornacar responds:

tnx man I really appreciate for cheking me out...you are right about the drums I will do my best to improve them. Anyway it really seems you know what your talking about when it comes to creating music and I must say I am glad you pointed few things out for me...

Take care

It's decent... but only a demo.

Some nice tune you've got here man. Liking what you've done. It's well produced and it's interesting to listen to (something that my dubstep pieces never are).

I'd love to be able to give some criticisms or some advice but it's a bit hard to do with this track. I guess I'll have to wait for a finished version to comment on the overall sound, but it seems as if your definitely heading in the right direction.

Good luck with finishing this one, it's an impressive demo.

Haha, tune!

This is a well good tune. I can totally imagine those pills being made as well. I would definitely go mental to this tune if it came on at a rave. Good work man.

AlxEllis responds:

lol ye but after a bit it would drive you crazy lol thanks for reviewing ;)

Hmmm, interesting...

I'm not sure if it's just the style I don't like or the synth. I like the pace of this piece, the beats and the bass line. It's all wicked. However i'm not a fan of the main leading synth. It definitely needs some sort of melody going on but I found it a little too chaotic to get me interested.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good piece of music and it is well produced. It's just the leading synth that I think could do with a little altering. I'd personally change the sound to something a little less tinny and work on a more simple melody.

Anyway, it's a good techno song. 5/5 8/10

Twistedtechnology responds:

hmm, i can see where you're coming from here, it does, in retrospect, seem chaotic and disjointed. perhaps a heaver sounding synth would have definitely sounded better, perhaps i'll mess around with it later XD

thanks a ton for your vote and your review!!

Thought i'd try and help out.

It sounds as if you've put quite alot of effort in to making this, and it shows. It's well produced. You've put the effort in to making the song interesting with plenty happening to keep the listener interested. However there are a few improvements.

Drums - You've got a nice percussion feel going on. It's interesting and energetic. However I do feel as if you need to boost the lower frequencies for the bass kick to really stand out. As well as this you could do with playing around with the snare frequencies and try and get a more punchy sound. Other than that, the drums are brilliant.

Bass - You really need to be a little bolder with the bass. It sounds wicked, but it simply isn't loud enough. Other than that it's quality.

Melody - Sounds alright, but I reckon with a bit of playing around you could create something which is a little more catchy.

Samples - Quality

Over-all structure, wicked.

This is a really great piece of music. I'm pretty jealous. Hope i've helped a little bit and i'm looking forward to hearing the finished product.

Good luck man, James

Heavy tune man.

I'd love to be making drum and bass like this, but it's so damn hard to do. The bass is really nice although I thought it could have done with a little more boosting of the lower frequencies.

If i'm totally honest, I don't think it needed any of the synthy stuff over the top. I thought it distracted from the deep dirty feel of the piece.

Anyway, i'm extremely envious, keep these coming if you can.

Rig responds:

This was like my first real attempt at DnB. It isn't mastered properly at ALL - I whipped this up in like 12 hours after I realized I didn't have enough good material to satisfy an hour-long set. :P
I agree about the bass and synthy stuff, too.

Thanks for the feedback, though! :D

This was nice...

I decided to review a song of your as you said in the audio forum that people had stopped reviewing your music and I felt a little sorry for you lol.

I read the comment below and was a little disappointed that you used pre-made drum loops in this. I always think that drum and bass is fairly easy to write if you use whole drum sample phrases. Nevertheless, this was a really nice piece. The bass is nice, and displays a good use of those filters. The backing synths were heavy.

All in all this is a well structured song, plenty going on and keeps the listening interested. Good work man. You tried to write some drum and bass and succeeded.

UntitledWhite responds:

Well i thank you for your pity review :)

Yea making drum and bass beats is pretty easy,... its just getting the correct sound out of thewhole matter thats a little difficult. I like to program everything seperately. Each individual hit has a certain EQ... its just hard to get it to sound as good as the loops that i had.

As i've said, i got about 200 new samples... among those, are several single drum hits. I'm going to see if i can tweak some of those out to my liking. Its hard to work with about 12 snares.
So yes... this is just a thrown together song and hopefully i can make one that has a lot more of "me" involved. Thanks a lot for your kind review... I'll see you around Newgrounds :-)

Nice....

Its a decent loop man. Heavy bass and plenty going on. I like what you've done with the percussion, although I have a couple of suggestions that I think could possibly improve this piece.

I think you need a more predominant snare and bass kick. The most powerful part of drum and bass can be where the kick drum shakes you before the bass churns. You've probably played around with loads of different kicks etc, so I don't want to come across as patronising, but I think adding another bass drum and snare and boosting the right frequencies would hugely improve this loop. Also a little distortion always goes down well.

Good work, i thought this piece was heavy.

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Hehe about taking time on looking for a kick and everything.... I was actually showing my friend what I could make with the standard FL plug-ins and files.

Anything anyone says I will take into consideration when making a song. I'm new to DnB so any critiques and suggestions helps me.

Thank you for the review and suggestions.

I 5'd

I voted a 5. Does that mean i'm alright? Please reply.

How about those bad boy glasses? Minimal style music composer. Reviews always welcome, cheers.
